New Principal for 2024-2025 School Year
Greetings Parents and families!
The school year is almost here and I would like to introduce myself. This coming fall, I will be the new 7-12 school principal. I am looking forward to creating relationships with the parents, students and community. I feel honored to hold this position and be of service to the school district.
A little bit about myself, I retired as a Major from the Nebraska Army National Guard in 2006 after serving for 20 years. I was enlisted for 6 years and then an officer the last 14 years. I held various roles such as a radio operator, staff personnel, platoon leader and commander.
I started my educational career at Daniel J. Gross High School in Omaha, NE. There I was a Spanish teacher and coach. I taught at Gross for 3 years and then taught at Ralston High School. At RHS I taught Spanish for 21 years.
The last 6 years I have been at Plattsmouth High School as their assistant principal. During my time at Plattsmouth, I learned many lessons. I hope that my experiences at my previous school districts will help guide this next journey at HTRS.
On the personal side, my husband, Kent and I have 3 children. Our two oldest are secondary teachers in the Omaha area. Our youngest will be attending college this fall and study to be a teacher as well. Therefore, educational careers run deep in our family!
As a family, we enjoy vacationing in Minnesota each year. It’s wonderful spending time on the water, reconnecting and not having an itinerary.
Before you know it, school will be here! If you are in the school building before then, please stop by and say hello. Enjoy the rest of your summer and I’m looking forward to meeting you at the open house.
Go Titans!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kimberly L. Caniglia
HTRS 7-12 Principal

Ms. Joyner stated this is "A HUGE DEAL!" and "It's a reason to celebrate! Ms. Joyner went on to say "I am so proud of these students."
