TWO MONTHS OF THE 2024 NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT & ENERGY "DON'T WASTE IT" CALENDAR FEATURES HTRS STUDENTS ART WORK

Congratulations to Chloe Shupp (entered last school year in the 8th grade) and Kassi Kanel (entered in the 7th grade) had their art selected and featured in Department of Environment & Energy "Don't Waste It" calendar competition. This is quite an accomplishment for Chloe and Kassi who had their work selected from among 450 other student entries statewide for one of the twelve months.

Kassi attended the award ceremony to receive her award from Governor Pillen (pictured below). Kassi's work is feature in the Month of July 2024.

Chloe was unable to attend the ceremony so art teacher Ms. Sharon Joyner accepted the award for her. Chloe's work is featured for the month of November 2024 (pictured to the right).

Ms. Joyner stated this is "A HUGE DEAL!" and "It's a reason to celebrate! Ms. Joyner went on to say "I am so proud of these students."

In addition to the certificate and having their work published and distributed statewide, Chloe and Kassidi received a new Wooden Box Artist Set.
