Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer Public Schools

A little about me, I live on a farm outside of Falls City with my husband and 4 boys. We've been here for 18 years, but I am originally from Minden, NE. I went to UNK for a while, but graduated from Peru State College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice. 

I worked for the Nebraska Supreme Court as Records Clerk for Judge Maschman in Richardson and Pawnee counties until I went to law school at Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, KS. 

After that, I worked part time as an advocate for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault victims through Project Response and ran an in-home summer daycare for school aged children. 

When my youngest started school, I went to work as a Social Worker at KVC Kansas, and worked part time at Falls City North Elementary School. I've been with JAG since June and spent a good part of the summer in Omaha training for students. 

Now, let me tell you about our JAG program! JAG students will be exploring careers, but we do many other things as well! 

This week, we start our leadership unit, where we will be electing officers. Our leadership team will have the opportunity to participate at a state leadership conference as well as legislative day at our state capitol. If they do well, they may get the chance to go to the JAG National Convention!

Some of our JAG students are participating in a community service project through the Lincoln Food Bank, where they will  be distributing food to local residents in need. 

My favorite Unit that we cover in JAG is our Economic Empowerment Module. Students will learn about all types of insurance, how to prepare a long and short term budget, how to start a small business, and how to successfully deal with law enforcement.
